Trick-or-Treat

Jessica made Jude's monster backpack. You put the candy in his mouth.
Ill admit it, I wasn't too excited about trick-or-treat. Not because I didn't want to go, but because I didn't think that the kids would be very interested. It was hard enough getting them to keep their costumes on long enough for a picture and there were a few complaints on the way to Nana and Grandpa's house. We went to Mom's old neighborhood and thought that we could at least knock a couple of doors. The first one took a little convincing, then both kids realized what was going on. We had trouble keeping up with them for the rest of the night as they ran from door to door filling their little bags to the brim with candy. By the end of the night, they had the whole ring the doorbell, say "trick-or-treat", get the loot and move onto the next house down to a science. By the time Mom & Nana realized that their witch boots were actually not made for walking, we returned home, having visited most of the homes on their steep street. We are already looking forward to next year. On the way home from a Christmas party in December, Emily asked, "When is Halloween? Can we go trick-or-treating?"

A Roald Dahl inspiration.
